How does the tool define words and sentences?
When available, browser language segmentation identifies words and sentences. The fallback uses whitespace-separated words and punctuation-separated sentences; abbreviations and mixed languages can produce different counts.
What counts as a paragraph or character?
A paragraph is a nonempty block separated by a blank line. Characters count Unicode code points, including spaces and newlines; complex emoji can count as multiple characters. Input is limited to 2,000,000 UTF-16 code units.
Is an assignment pasted into the counter stored?
